Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I accept insurance for psychotherapy. I work with several commercial insurance plans including BlueCross and BlueShield, United Healthcare, Cigna and Evernorth, Aetna, Baylor Scott & White Health Plan, Oscar (Optum), Oxford (Optum), Quest Behavioral Health, Carelon Behavioral Health and Texas Medicaid.

I have pending contracts with government programs such as Medicare and Tricare/Triwest. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you desire care utilizing your health plan. I am able to offer a reduced rate during this limited time or able to reach out once your specific contract comes through!

Do you offer a sliding scale for payment?

Yes. Money should never be a source of shame or silence. Instead, they are approached with the same care and compassion as any other part of the therapeutic journey. The self-pay price for a 60 min therapy session is $125. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for those navigating financial hardship. These spots are offered in the spirit of trust and mutual respect, rooted in honest conversation about what is sustainable for both client and clinician. If you’re in need of a reduced fee, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I welcome these conversations and hold them with gentleness and dignity.

What is the difference between psychotherapy (therapy) & consulting?

Therapy involves a more in-depth relationship focusing on emotional growth and treatment of mental health concerns. Together, we explore patterns, stories, and wounds that may be impacting your well-being today. It often involves processing past experiences, tending to trauma, and learning skills for greater self-understanding and overall wellness. Therapy is usually covered by insurance.

Consulting is a more short-term and solution-focused relationship. It’s designed to offer guidance, insight, or support around a specific question, challenge, or transition—whether as an individual, professional, faith community, or organization. Rather than ongoing emotional work, consulting offers practical direction, education, or recommendations to help you move forward with clarity and purpose. Consulting is not usually covered by insurance.

Do you offer psychotherapy in Spanish?

I do not currently provide psychotherapy in Spanish. Though I am constantly pursuing greater fluency to nurture these relationships that are more clinical in nature, I am happy to speak with you over the phone in Spanish about any case management needs, such as scheduling, connecting you with resources and navigating systems of support in your community. For now, any in-depth clinical conversations will be held utilizing a professional interpreter to ensure clarity and highest quality of care.

Do you see clients over tele-health?

Yes, I offer all of my in-person services (therapy, social work, supervision, immigration evaluations) via tele-health. Therapy is limited to Texas and Missouri residents at this time. All virtual meetings allow you to meet from the comfort of your home, which can be especially helpful for those with busy schedules, limited transportation, or that live in rural areas with fewer mental health providers. All sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant platform to protect your privacy and confidentiality.

What is therapy like with you?

I’m Madeline, and therapy is my calling - learn more about me here. Therapy and working with me is like arriving home and walking through a safe, welcoming and open door. Therapy with me is relational, honest, and rooted in deep respect for your story.

I don’t rush your process or assume I know what’s best for you. I’ll show up as a real human—compassionate, direct when needed, and committed to walking alongside you.

I believe healing happens in spaces where we feel safe to be our full selves. Whether we’re sitting with grief, making sense of past wounds, or imagining new possibilities—I’ll meet you there with care and curiosity.
